Anantnag: In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized over 30 kilograms of narcotic substances in a series of coordinated raids in the Anantnag district.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police teams launched simultaneous raids on three houses in the area. At the residence of Jehangir Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Abdulla Khan, authorities recovered 23.33 kilograms of Charas powder. In a second raid, 3.67 kilograms of Charas were seized from the home of Reyaz Ahmad Khan, son of Sher Afzal Khan. A third operation at the residence of Nowshad Pathan, son of Kastiya Pathan, resulted in the recovery of 3.9 kilograms of Charas.

In total, 30.9 kilograms of Charas powder were seized during the operation. All three accused have been taken into custody and cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered. Investigations are ongoing, with officials indicating that further arrests and recoveries are likely.

These successful raids mark a major step forward in J&K Police’s intensified crackdown on drug trafficking in the region. The police have reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace and have urged the public to support their efforts by reporting any drug-related activities or suspicious behavior.

“The drive against drug peddling will continue with full intensity,” a police spokesperson said, emphasizing community cooperation as a key component in making Anantnag and the broader region drug-free.
