Srinagar: National Conference and alliance partners today asked the Central government to respect will of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a joint legislative party meeting, the National Conference (NC) and its alliance partners passed two key resolutions.
The first strongly condemned the Waqf Amendment Bill passed in Parliament, calling it a direct attack on the rights of Muslims.
The second resolution expressed concern over the violation of the people’s mandate, urging the Government of India to ensure coordination between the Chief Minister’s office and the LG administration.
The alliance appealed to the Centre to respect democratic will, cautioning, “Don’t mistake our silence for weakness—don’t push us to the wall.”
