Srinagar: An unidentified body was found inside a filtration plant in Laridora area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla on Saturday.
An official said the body was found this afternoon inside a filtration plant in Thanda Kasi, following which police were informed.
“A police team took over the body for necessary medico-legal formalities,” the official added.
He also said following the incident, the officials of PHE Division Baramulla sounded an alert and urged people to avoid drinking water supply from the said filtration plant for a day.
“An unidentified body has been found in the Laridora water supply scheme. This is tragic news, and the district administration and the police have been informed about the matter,” said Aijaz Ahmad, Executive Engineer, PHE Division, Baramulla.
He appealed to the residents of Laridora and Rajpora not to use the water they fetched today. He added, “We have deployed tankers to supply water to the people.”
