Someone once looked upon my hand,

But I — I never did believe,
That fate was something palms could weave.
I thought someone would surely come,
To hold me close when nights grow numb.
Though I was trapped in storms so wild,
They’d take my hand, and calm my trials.
Yet here I stand, all on my own,
Surrounded by struggles, all alone.
No hand to pull me from despair,
No arms to hold me, none to care.
And now I see what I ignored,
The fortune teller’s every word.
“In your dark nights, no stars will gleam,
No light will come, no hopeful dream.
The world will love, but none for you,
No one will love you pure and true.”
