Srinagar, Jul 04: The bodies of two persons, who went missing after their boat capsized in Nigeen lake during a windstorm last evening, were recovered on Wednesday.
Police said a boat carrying four locals capsized after it was caught in windstorm in the lake. “They had gone to attend a marriage function in a small boat. However, their boat capsized. Two among the four managed to swim back, while two went missing,” a police officer said.
He said bodies of both persons were retrieved today from the lake after hectic efforts.
The deceased have been identified as Sajad Ahmed Ghat (24), son of Muhammad Yousuf of Hafizbagh Mallabagh, and Umar Ahmad (27), son of Muhammad Sultan Lolepuri of Housing colony Illahibagh.
