Jammu: Former Cabinet Minister and Apni Party’s Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir, strongly criticized the recently passed budget, stating, “The budget makes no direct mention of critical issues such as rising unemployment and inflation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Our youth are disappointed, as it offers no clarity on employment opportunities.” “If the youth are dissatisfied, how can we call it a good budget?,” he asked.

Mir made these remarks today while speaking to reporters after a party event in Vijaypur, Samba district, Jammu. The event was held to mark the party’s foundation anniversary.

Replying to question about recently passed J&K budged, Mir expressed his dissatisfaction. He said, “Ours is an agricultural economy, and the government has raised diesel prices, which means it will affect everything here despite the fact that people are already suffering due to rising inflation.”

“We were expecting significant measures to address unemployment and reduce inflation, but this budget is disappointing,” he added.

Ghulam Hassan Mir urged the government to fulfil its promise to revisit the existing mining policy in Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “The current mining policy introduced by the LG administration is completely anti-people and has led to a hike in the prices of mining materials. The ruling party has promised to people that its government will revisit this policy to protect the rights of local people and those who have been involved in mining for years. The government must fulfil its promise.”

During the event, Ghulam Hassan Mir extended his gratitude to his party leaders and workers for their dedication and resilience that they have showed over the past six year —since the party was established on March 8, 2020.

He said that Apni Party will continue to pursue its agenda and policies for the peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir and for the political and economic empowerment of the people. He said that Apni Party is for the people and it will always stand by the people.

The prominent party leaders who were present on the occasion included Manjit Singh, Abdul Majid Padder, Raman Thapha, Saleem Alam, Aijaz Kazmi, Sahil Bharti, Vaibhav Mattoo, Mangat Ram, Bachan Lal, Mohan Lal Sharma, Bhau Ram Bhagat, Joginder Lal, Neelam Gupta, Sheekha Bhardwaj and others.
