Srinagar: A young man was killed while his brother was injured in a road accident in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday evening.

Quoting officials, news agency JKNS reported that a scooty collided with an auto-rickshaw at Anzwalla Anantnag resulting on-spot death of the scooty rider Owais Reyaz Khan, son of Reyaz Ahmad of Shirpora Anantnag.

His brother Usman Reyaz Khan, who was a rising pillion, received injuries and was shifted to GMC Anantnag from where he was referred to SKIMS Soura Srinagar in critical condition, they said.

Police have taken cognizance and started investigations.

Meanwhile, five persons were injured in a road accident at Bagnoti area in Nowshera sub-division on Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch national highway.

Quoting officials, news agency JKNS reported that the accident took place when a vehicle (JK12D-5477) on way from Poonch to Jammu collided with another vehicle (JK02BC-1693), coming from Jammu to Rajouri, resulting injuries to five persons, who were shifted to sub-district hospital Nowshera for treatment.
