Probe underway in Billawar deaths: SSP Kathua

Jammu: Shobhit Saxena, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, Tuesday stated that the investigation was underway to ascertain the cause of death of two persons whose bodies were recovered in Billawar village two days ago.

“No, there is no breakthrough yet as investigation is still underway. So far, we have registered a murder case and an intensive probe is being conducted,” SSP Kathua said.

Police had recovered the bodies of two persons along the banks of a stream in village Batheri on Sunday.

On Monday, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had asked the concerned officers to investigate the cause of death of the duo.

He had said that he was in touch with the local MLA as well on this account.

The Chief Minister had shared this info on the micro-blogging site X.
