Baramulla: Nabeel Irshad Wani, a young taekwondo prodigy from Baramulla, has made the nation proud by securing a bronze medal at the prestigious International Taekwondo Championship G2 WT in Fujairah, UAE. Competing in the -57 kg category (under-12 boys), Nabeel etched his name in history as the first Indian to win a medal in this category at the championship.

A student of Aarifeen School of Excellence in Delina, Baramulla, Nabeel showcased exceptional talent and determination throughout the competition. He began his campaign with a stellar performance against his opponent from Uzbekistan, securing victories in the first two rounds with scores of 6-5 and 11-5. However, his journey to the gold medal was halted by a tough match against a competitor from the UAE, where he narrowly lost with scores of 4-6 and 10-14 in the respective rounds
