Bandipora: The Gurez Valley of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district received fresh snowfall on Tuesday evening, following which the authorities closed the 85 km-long Gurez-Bandipora road as a precautionary measure.

An official confirmed the road closure saying that snow accumulation along the route has made travel unsafe. The snowfall has impacted several areas within the valley, including Kanzalwan, Niru, Dawar, and Tulail, with continuous snowfall reported across the valley.

Residents and commuters are strongly encouraged to stay informed about official advisories before making any travel plans in the area. They should check for updates on road conditions and weather forecasts before venturing out, official said.
