Srinagar: CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, M Y Tarigami and JK Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara, Sajad Lone have expressed seious concern over the non-payment of salaries to National Health Mission (NHM) employees and urged the authorities to do the needful without any further delay.
In a statement issued here today, Tarigami urged the authorities to release the pending salaries of NHM employees without any further delay, stating that they deserve their rightful wages.
Tarigami said that NHM employees are performing their duties rightfully and should not be made to wait for their salaries.
“We have been informed that they have not received their salaries for the past two months. It is unjust to let them suffer like this. We urge the authorities to release their pending wages immediately and ensure their families do not face financial hardships,” Tarigami said.
“It is imperative for the concerned authorities to release their salaries without any further delay,” he added.
Tarigami said ASHAs working under NHM perform a wide range of tasks but unfortunately they are not being paid any regular remunerations instead are being forced to work on meager incentives.
“The Government must take steps for regularization and should frame transfer policy for NHM employees besides releasing the enhanced incentive to ASHAs,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, JK Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara, Sajad Lone said that NHM employees in J&K have been awaiting their salaries for two months, turning this delay into a recurring hardship that affects their livelihoods and morale.
“Their dedication to public health deserves more than just appreciation—it demands timely support. I urge the concerned authorities to release the pending salaries at the earliest and ensure that such delays do not become the norm,” Lone posted on X.
