Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in various areas to facilitate critical infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.

According to the Chief Engineer, KPDCL, the power supply to several receiving stations and their feeding areas will be affected due to the fixing of 33KV line material on newly erected ST Poles outside the GIS Grid Tengpora. The affected areas include KP Bagh, Jawahar Nagar, Batmaloo, Exhibition, Rajbagh, Narkara, Gangbugh, Budshah Flat, Hari Singh High Street, and adjoining localities. Additionally, the receiving station at Silk Factory and its feeding areas, including Allochibagh, Solina, Rambagh, Old Barzulla, and LD Hospital (to be temporarily supplied from Receiving Station Rajbagh), will also experience power cuts on February 09, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Further, as part of the upgradation of the 33KV Wanpoh SICOP Line from 0.1 ACSR to 0.2 ACSR, power supply from the 33KV Wanpoh SICOP to the receiving stations at Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veeri, Cheniwader, and Shuhul Flour Mill, along with feeding areas such as Veer, Srigufwara, Zirpara, Shamsipora, and Bijbehara SICOP, will remain affected on February 11, 15, 19, and 22, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Similarly, to carry out stabilization works under RDSS, power supply from the 33KV Amargarh-Watrigam line to receiving stations at Watrigam, Hachipora, and Hadipora, along with their respective feeding areas, will be interrupted on February 11, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

In addition, in view of the charging of the augmented 33KV Lisser-Hiller Line, completed under PMDP-R, power supply from this line to receiving stations at Hiller, Shankerpora, and Aarkashpora, including feeding areas such as Shankerpora, Hiller, Akingam, Badasgam, and Aarkashpora, will be suspended on February 10, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance. KPDCL has assured that all maintenance work will be completed within the scheduled time to minimize inconvenience.
