NOWSHERA (RAJOURI): Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today laid the foundation stone for much anticipated Sports Block at Government Degree College, Nowshera.

The project, to be established with an estimated cost of ₹208.50 lakh, aims to enhance sports infrastructure and provide better facilities for students and aspiring athletes.

The deputy Chief minister was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa; Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Babu Ram Tandon; and other district and sectoral officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy Chief minister emphasised government’s commitment towards promoting sports and physical fitness among the youth. He highlighted that the new Sports Block would provide modern training facilities and encourage students to actively participate in various sports disciplines.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and local residents, who welcomed the government’s focus on strengthening sports facilities in educational institutions.

Surinder Choudhary exhorted upon the executing agencies to ensure timely completion of the project while maintaining high standards of construction. He reiterated administration’s resolve to develop robust sports infrastructure in the region, fostering a culture of health, fitness and excellence in sports.

The deputy Chief minister highlighted the importance of such infrastructure in nurturing talent at the grassroots level. He expressed optimism that the project would significantly contribute towards the overall development of students in the region.
