Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Srinagar and Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession, an official handout informed Friday.
It said in Srinagar, at SKIMS Chowk Soura, police arrested one Rouf Ahmed Zargar, son of Nazir Ahmed Zargar of Manigam Ganderbal, after a “substantial quantity” of contraband substance was recovered from his possession.
In Handwara, at Resripora Kralgund one Danish Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir of Kralgund was arrested and 110 grams of contraband cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations against both persons for further investigations, police said.
