Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, an official handout informed Wednesday.
It said during naka checking at Zafran Colony (Pantha Chowk) police apprehended two persons – Furqan Majid Khan alias Kanda, resident of Kanipora, and Sameer Hussain Dar of Chattergam. During their search, “substantial quantity” of narcotic substance was recovered from their possession.
At Zawoora crossing, two chronic drug peddlers were arrested and their car (JK16B-3205) seized. Suhaibji Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Ganderbal, and Ubaidullah Lone, son of Ifhtikhar Ahmad Lone of Hanji Danter Anantnag, at present Naz Colony Panthachowk, were arrested after a “substantial quantity” of contraband substance was recovered from their possession.
Cases under relevant sections of NDPS Act have been registered for further investigation, police said.
