Speaking to media persons at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, the Director of School Education Kashmir, GN Itoo, as per news agency JKNS, stated that the Board of School Education has been instructed to expedite the process and ensure that textbooks are available in a timely manner.

“As you know, the November session was restored in the shortest possible time. Following this, the education minister and Principal Secretary held a high-level meeting and directed the Board to make all textbooks available by January 31,” he said.

“The process is ongoing, and we are working diligently to ensure that books are available in schools by the end of January,” Itoo added.

Regarding winter tutorials, Itoo mentioned that Chief Education Officers (CEOs) were instructed to use old textbooks. He further assured that advance planning is in place for the upcoming session to prevent similar issues for students. “We are closely monitoring the situation to ensure books are distributed at the earliest,” he said.

When asked about the violation of rules by some private schools regarding fees and textbooks, Itoo emphasized that clear directives have been issued to address complaints from parents within 24 hours. “Anyone found breaking the rules will face strict action,” he warned.
