Satish Sharma calls on Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav

NEW DELHI: Minister for FCS &CA, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Information & Technology, Science and Technology, ARI and Trainings, Satish Sharma, today called on Union Minister for Railway Information Broadcasting and Electronic and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnav and discussed various critical matters pertaining to Railway, Information Technology and allied sectors.

Satish Sharma thanked the Union Minister for his support in all round development of J&K. He also discussed various development issues including Railway Line from Jammu to Poonch via Akhnoor, Chhamb, Sunderbani and Nowshera onwards, extension of Railway line to Uri and Kupwara from Baramulla onwards, IT Corporate parks in Jammu and Srinagar to generate job avenues for thousands of IT trained professionals.

The Minister also urged for establishment of Data centres at District and Tehsil Headquarters, establishment of State Emergency Operation Centre, State Wide Area Network 2.0 to cover remaining PoPs left under SWAN 1.0 for better internet connectivity between all districts, augmentation of CSCs and setting up of electronic manufacturing units by MNC key players in J&K, creating facilities in JK on the lines of CDOT, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for all the departments of J&K, besides Content Delivery Network (CDN)

Satish Sharma also urged for the introduction of new programmes to supplement the developmental initiatives being undertaken by the Government. He called for broadening the ambit of developmental projects so that the benefits could reach the maximum populace. He said that this would also ensure that the people get the necessary and requisite facilities and they are brought to par with the metropolitan cities of the country.

The Union Minister said that the central Government is committed to expediting the pace of development in J&K and assured to consider the issues/demands raised by Satish Sharma.
