Srinagar: Police in Awantipora arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, police said in a handout.
It said at a checkpoint at Awantipora, police intercepted a vehicle (JK13B-9082) and during its search, 3.945 kgs of grinded poppy straw was recovered from the possession of Shabir Ahmad Khan, son of Noor Mohammad Khan, resident of Lethpora. He has been arrested and vehicle seized, while a case has been registered for further investigation.
