After inaugurating the tube well, Javed Rana said that commissioning the tube well would augment the water supply in the area and provide much-needed succour to the residents.

It is pertinent to mention that Javed Rana had recently directed for inauguration of tube wells that are ready to be functional.

Emphasizing the importance of adhering to quality standards, Javed Rana called for strenuous efforts to complete the pending works on the other two tube wells in Sanjay Nagar and Vhour Camp, within the set deadlines.

The tube well at Channi will have a capacity of 2.00 lac gallons of water with a safe discharge of 10,000 gallons/hr.

The tube well is part of the augmentation of the water supply in water deficit areas of Channi Himmat, Sanjay Nagar and Vhour Camp under which 3 tube wells were proposed to be drilled with other allied civil and mechanical infrastructure. Work on other tube wells in Sanjay Nagar and Vhour Camp is underway.

The scheme was taken up for execution in 2022-23 under UT CAPEX and shall be fully commissioned by March 2025. The total estimated cost of the project is 652.78 lakh.

Vikram Randhawa and local residents expressed their gratitude for the project that has ensured access to clean drinking water and alleviated the hardships associated with water scarcity in the area.
