Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Srinagar and recovered contraband, psychotropic substances from their possession, a police handout informed Thursday.
It said police intercepted a vehicle (JK01AH-5637) at Kralkhud Chowk, and arrested two persons — Nadeem Shafi Kashani, son of Mohammad Shafi Kashani, resident of Sathoo Payeen Barbarshah; and Ashiq Ahmed Hundoo, son of Late Ghulam Rasool Handoo of Abi-Karpora Dalgate, at present Hamdania Colony, Bemina –travelling in it after four grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
In Safakadal, two drug peddlers — Nabeel Showkat Zargar, son of Showkat Aziz Zargar of Safakadal Haftayarbal, and Shahriyar Ahmad Mir, son of Mir Ishfaq Ahmad of Rathpora Eidgah – were arrested after 11 bottles of Codeine Phosphate & 30 strips of Tapentidol (banned drugs) were recovered from their possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for investigations, police said.
