JAMMU: Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, YS&S, IT, S&T and ARI & Trainings, Satish Sharma, chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the physical and financial progress on developmental works being executed by the Rural Development Department in Chhamb constituency under different schemes,
The meeting focused on evaluating the progress and impact of ongoing projects in the constituency being executed under RDD schemes.
During the review, the Minister, who is also the MLA from Chhamb constituency, had a comprehensive assessment of various aspects of the RDD sector including implementation of MGNREGA, PMAY-G, Capex, rural sanitation and allied programmes.
Satish Sharma emphasized transparency and accountability as central principles in RDD sector projects. He reviewed the status of RDD development works being executed across all blocks including Chowki Choura, Maira Mandrian, Samwan, Khara Balli and Khour. He laid stress on convergence with other departments in building community developmental assets.
Highlighting the importance of MGNREGA in the socio-economic empowerment of rural areas, the Minister exhorted upon the concerned officers to facilitate the smooth and effective execution of all development works being done under this ambitious scheme. He asked the officials to focus on employment generation and skill development as core aspects of RDD’s mission.
Satish Sharma directed the ACD to focus on the completion of pending works besides expediting the tendering process and monitoring of departmental works on a regular basis.
The Minister asked the BDOs to ensure cothe mpletion of CAPEX works being executed under 2024-25 projects within the specific timeframe to avoid lapse of funds.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner of Development Jammu, Dr. Vikas Sharma, apprised the Minister of the current status of different works being implemented by RDD in the Chhamb constituency.
The meeting was attended by ACP Jammu, Executive Engineer REW, BDOs of Chowki Choura, Maira Mandrian, Samwan, Khour and Khara Balli along with other RDD officials.
