Satish Sharma inspects I&CC at Samba

SAMBA: Minister for Transport, Satish Sharma, today conducted a comprehensive review of the Inspection and Certification Centre located in Samba.

During the visit, the Minister reviewed progress on the ongoing infrastructure projects including Inspection and Certification Centre (I&CC) Samba, which will be completed with an estimated cost of Rs 14 crore and shall be fully operational by March-April, 2025.

The Minister exhorted that the operationalization of I&CC will play a crucial role in the streamlined issuance of Fitness Certificates to the vehicles. He stressed upon the executing agencies to complete the remaining work especially the construction of ramps at the earliest so that the center could be made operational before the deadline fixed by the higher authorities.

Satish Sharma undertook a detailed assessment of the left-out works and issued strict directives to the executing agencies to ensure the timely completion of all pending projects. He stressed the importance of adhering to project timelines and maintaining high-quality standards in infrastructure development.

The inspection was marked by a thorough examination of the current status and potential bottlenecks in project implementation.

The Minister was accompanied by Transport Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan, along with other senior officials of the department.
