“This decision is neither abrupt nor opportunistic—it is the culmination of introspection, my unwavering commitment to the people of J&K, and my belief in Congress as the sole platform capable of addressing the pressing challenges we face,” Nath stated.

After a two-year hiatus from active politics, Nath remained engaged with the legal and social landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir. This period, she said, deepened her understanding of the region’s pressing issues and strengthened her resolve to contribute meaningfully through politics.

Nath underscored her alignment with the Congress’s ideology, describing it as a party committed to inclusive progress and constitutional integrity. “The Congress, with its legacy of service and vision, is the force that J&K needs. Despite my brief absence, I have always believed in its values,” she emphasized.

She lauded the leadership of Shri Tariq Hameed Karra, describing his stewardship as a “clarion call for unity and action.” Nath expressed confidence in Karra’s ability to guide the party towards a more fearless and proactive future in the region.

Nath framed her return as a call to action for both party colleagues and the people of J&K. “My return is not a mere political gesture; it is a commitment to reinvigorate the Congress in J&K and reclaim its position as the voice of the people,” she declared. She further urged the party to rebuild with courage and determination, promising her unwavering dedication to this mission.

In response to potential skepticism, Nath firmly asserted, “To those who question my motives, let me be clear: my commitment is to the people of J&K, not political expediency. My return is a declaration that the Congress will not retreat but advance, with renewed vigor and purpose.”

Nath concluded her statement by envisioning a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir under Congress’s leadership. She called for collective effort, unity, and dedication to reaffirm the party’s role as the cornerstone of India’s democratic and constitutional framework.
