Secretary Health reviews establishment of infrastructure for MCCH, GMC Anantnag

SRINAGAR: Secretary of Health & Medical Education, Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, today chaired a meeting regarding the establishment of additional infrastructure for Maternal and Childcare Associated Hospital (MCCH) for GMC, Anantnag.

The Secretary directed the concerned officers to initiate necessary steps for the establishment of a Maternity and Child Care Hospital as an Associated Hospital of Government Medical College Anantnag.

He emphasised that this initiative shall go further in improving the Maternal & Child Health Care Services in the Anantnag district and its adjoining areas.

The measure will decongest the existing Associate Hospital of GMC Anantnag while fulfilling the long pending demand of people of the area for the provisioning of Tertiary level comprehensive child and maternal care services in the area.

Further, the Chief Engineer, PW(R&B) South Kashmir was directed to furnish a Detailed Project Report for a 200-bed maternal and Child Care hospital at Janglat Mandi, Anantnag within the next 4-5 days.

District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Principal Government Medical College Anantnag, Director Coordinator New Medical Colleges, Director Health Services Kashmir and Superintending Engineer PWD South Kashmir attended the meeting.

Among the officers of the Health & Medical Education Department Director Finance HME, Joint Director Planning & Deputy Director Planning also participated in the meeting.
