BUDGAM: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo today conducted an on-spot appraisal of the completed restoration work on the Bemina Bridge, a vital link between Budgam and Srinagar.

The DC reviewed retrofitting of the damaged expansion joints, an essential part of the project undertaken to enhance the bridge’s serviceability ensuring the safety and comfort of commuters.

The repair work was completed in a span of 14 days and was thrown open today after the completion of a minimum seven-day period of setting up the restoration material.

On the occasion, the DC underscored the significance of this vital bridge that connects two districts.

“The successful and timely completion of this project underscores the commitment of the administration for providing safe and smooth travel for all commuters and transporters using this Bridge,” the DC added.

The DC lauded the cooperation of the local people in extending support during the repair of this vital bridge.

Chief Planning Officer Budgam, officials of the R&B Division Budgam, Tehsildar Budgam and other concerned officials were also present at the site.
