Congress pays floral tributes to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Tuesday paid floral tributes to the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his 135th birth anniversary and recollected his great contributions and selfless services to the Nation.

JKPCC held an important function at the Srinagar Party office to celebrate the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru at Srinagar Congress Office. Former PCC President & MLA Peerzada Mohd Sayeed presided over the function and highlighted the selfless services and achievement of Pt. Ji towards the Nation.

On this occasion, the leaders paid floral tributes to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary, described him as a man of development and progress, who will continue to be remembered for his great achievements and endeavours to build the Nation after attaining freedom from British foreign rule.

The leaders highlighted the selfless services of Pt. Ji said that he worked very hard to empower all Indians equally, for that matter, Pt Ji left no stone unturned to bring the Nation to par with the fastest developing countries in the world. People will continue to appreciate his five-year reconstruction plan, which ensured equitable development & progress in every sector.

Pt. Ji remained committed to serving people till his last breath while remaining committed to fulfilling the urges and aspirations of the people. He was an able administrator, and a great statesman, whose leadership qualities took the prestige of India to the heights. He is credited for shaping India, and safeguarding public rights, after the freedom, speakers added.

This day is observed as children’s day also, given the fact, that Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru had all love and affection for the children and always remained concerned for their wellbeing and better future.

Those who spoke on the occasion included Haji Abdul Rashid Dar (Ex. MLA), Nizam Ud Din Bhat (MLA), Surinder Singh Channi, Ex.MLA Abdul Rahim Rather, Abdul Gani Khan, Mahila President Shameema Raina, Nissar Ahmad Mundoo, Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Iqbal Mir, District Presidents Mir Iqbal (Bla), Zaffar Salati (Anantnag), Abdul Rashid Lone(Kulgam) Umer Jaan (Pulwama), Sheikh Aijaz (Ganderbal), Er.Muzaffar Dar (Budgam), Javed Ahmad Mir, Mir Ruvais, Yasir Nissar, Nargis, Javed Ahmad and various other leaders and workers.
