Srinagar: In a milestone for Jammu and Kashmir’s Health Services, Dr. Taha Ashraf Qureshi, an allergy specialist from JLNM Hospital, was invited to present at the prestigious International Scientific Symposium on Allergies in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The symposium, held at the renowned Allergy Lab of Copenhagen (ALK), brought together some of the brightest minds in allergy research from around the world, including 11 leading allergists from India.
Dr. Qureshi’s presentation focused on Sub-Lingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) as a treatment for House Dust Mite allergies, often dubbed the “Allergy Vaccine.” His insights on SLIT left a profound impact on attendees, underscoring the innovative work being done in the field. With multiple publications to his name, Dr. Qureshi’s participation not only marked a personal achievement but also represented a significant honor for a Kashmiri medic on an international platform.
“This invitation is not just a personal honor but also a testament to the growing recognition of Kashmir’s medical expertise on the global stage,” Dr. Qureshi remarked.
The ALK, a 101-year-old institution celebrated for its legacy in allergy research, served as an inspiring venue for the event, highlighting the latest advancements and treatments in allergy management. Dr. Qureshi’s representation at this global forum reinforces the Health Department’s commitment to excellence and positions Jammu and Kashmir as an emerging hub for medical expertise, offering inspiration for a new generation of healthcare professionals in the region.
