Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Wednesday.
He said at Vizer Crossing, police arrested Tanveer Ahmad Dar, son of Khazir Mohammad Dar, and Musaib Ahmad Dar, son of Manzoor Ahmad, both residents of Hadipora Baramulla after 1.47 kgs of contraband dried cannabis and cash of Rs 1000 was recovered from their possession. The bike (JK16-1407 ) they were riding was also confiscated.
At Check Tapper, one Abdul Rashid Khan, son of Mohammad Khan of Kreeri was arrested and 3 kgs of contraband poppy-straw-like substances was recovered from his possession.
At Chenabal, one Abid Hussain Sofi, son of Ghulam Hussain of Yakhmanpora Pattan. Was arrested and 1.88 kgs of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for investigation.
