Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said at a checkpoint at Eco Park Baramulla, one Roshan Ahmad Awan, son of Mohammad Ahmad Awan of Paranpeelan Uri, was arrested after 65 grams of contraband cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In Kulgam, at Khudwani Byepass (NHW-44), two persons — Mohammad Imran Bhat, son of Tariq Ahmad Bhat, and Mohammad Nawaz Lohar, son of Ghulam Nabi Lohar, both residents of Mohar, Reasi – were arrested and 630 grams of cannabis-like contraband substance was recovered from their possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
