Srinagar, Jun 26: Hizb supremo and United Jihad Council (UJC) chairman Syed  Sallahuddin Tuesday said the imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir is “insignificant and  non-issue for the people of Kashmir.”

Salahuddin said that the successive governments in Jammu and Kashmir have always been New Delhi’s “puppets whose only business is to implement their masters’ orders in Kashmir.”

He said that blaming the people who had ideological or professional differences with Shujaat Bukhari for his murder is “foolishness, unrealistic and criminal mindset.”

The UJC chief made these remarks while holding a high level UJC meeting at Muzaffarabad, said his spokesperson.

Flaying New Delhi for Ramazan ceasefire and talks offer, he said no seriousness was exhibited by India, “otherwise there would have been a genuine response to the same by the UJC.”

He said dialogue for the sake of dialogue won’t do any good as it didn’t do any good in the past.

He said in order to make dialogue a “meaningful process” New Delhi must understand the territorial and historical aspects of Jammu and Kashmir and it would be better for the regional and world peace.

Meanwhile, a top Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander on Tuesday said that Amarnath pilgrims were their guests and that the reports suggesting that militants were planning to attack them were baseless.

“Amarnath Yatra is not our target. They (yatris) come here to perform their religious rituals. They (yatris) are our guests,” said Riyaz Naikoo, a Hizb commander in an audio clip released on social media.

He termed as baseless the statement of DGP SP Vaid in which he had said that militants were planning to attack Amarnath Yatra, which is beginning tomorrow.

“We have never attacked Amarnath Yatra. We are not at war with the Yatris,” said Naikoo, adding that they were at war with those suppressing them.

“We are at war with those who forced us to pick up gun. We are fighting for our rights and our freedom,” he said.
