Srinagar: A 36-year-old teacher was killed after his scooty skidded off the road in Shangus area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.

Quoting officials, the news agency GNS reported that the man lost control over his scooty near Shangus and fell down the road, resulting in his on-spot death.

He has been identified as Ajaz Ahmad Shah (36), son of Ali Mohammad Shah, resident of Brah Ranipora Achabal. He was a teacher by profession, they said.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.

In yet another road accident, a man lost his life while another sustained injuries after their motorcycle was struck by an unidentified vehicle in Kadalbal area of Pampore.

The deceased was identified as Sahil Maqbool, son of Mohammad Maqbool Khanday, resident of Latterbal, Pampore. Sahil Ashraf Guroo, son of Mohammad Ashraf from Doobard Tulbagh, Pampore, who was injured has been referred to SDH Pampore for treatment, news agency NVI reported, adding that police have begun an investigation.
