It said joining hands with JKARS, celebrated sportswoman Bilquis Mir, who served as India’s first woman jury member at the recent Paris Olympics for water sports, volunteered as the chief organizer.

Bilquis Mir, along with her team from the J&K Watersports and Kayaking/Canoeing Association, managed the event, ensuring it was both memorable and inspiring.

It is worth mentioning that the event was initiated by Suresh B. Kapadia from Nashik, Maharashtra, who has been a strong advocate for the economic and social upliftment of Kashmir and its youth. Known for his efforts in promoting tourism in Gurez, Kapadia’s contributions have been instrumental in transforming the lives of many in the region, the press release said.

It said the competition also highlighted the diverse talents of Kashmiri women, as many participants were artisans crafting world-class bags for Caprese, proving that these artisans’ hands are as skilled in the water as they are with embroidery.

Each participant received a certificate and attractive cash prizes, with special awards for the top three finishers.
