Swachhta hi seva hai: NSS Units organize special lecture

Srinagar: In continuation with “Swachhta Hi Sewa” (4.0) NSS Units of the College on  Wednesday, under the patronage of worthy Principal Prof (Dr) Huda Galzai, organized a special lecture themed “Waste Management: Practices & Possible Implications”. The special lecture aimed to raise awareness among participants about the importance of proper waste management techniques and its implications on the environment and human health. Resource person for the event Dr. Taveer Bilal (Asst. Professor Dept. of Bioresources, GCW Pulwama) in his session highlighted the importance of proper waste management techniques and its implications on the environment and human health. During the session effective waste management practices, such as reduce, reuse, recycle, segregation of waste, composting, proper disposal of hazardous waste, active community participation and their scope to mitigate the negative impacts of waste pollution especially in UT of J&K were discussed. The program was attended by students & faculty members.
