Srinagar: In a strange move, by J&K standards, a cabinet minister Satish Sharma stepped in to help two accident victims today on Airport Road near Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar.
The victims, a father and his son, were involved in a serious road accident when Sharma, who was on his way to the airport, stopped his convoy to offer immediate help.
Satish Sharma, without even hesitating for a while, stopped his car, personally assisted the injured father and son, and arranged for their transportation to a nearby hospital in his official vehicle.
Speaking to the news agency KINS, Minister Sharma recounted the incident: “I was on my way to Srinagar airport when I saw the accident near Bakshi Stadium. I immediately stopped the car and took them to the nearby hospital. It is our responsibility to help people wherever they need us. We must step forward to assist others in times of distress.”
Eyewitnesses at the scene praised Satish Sharma for his selfless act.
Sharma further emphasized the importance of a collective responsibility toward fellow citizens and highlighted the role of the government in serving the people. “I appeal to everyone to lend a helping hand whenever possible. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the government is always there for the people, and we hope that citizens feel the same sense of support from us,” he further told KINS.
The minister’s quick action has earned praise from many locals, who see it as a sign of his dedication and kindness.
