Women’s Premier League 2024 inaugurated in Baramulla

Baramulla: Baramulla today witnessed the commencement of the Women’s Premier League 2024, marking a significant milestone in promoting women’s cricket in the district.

The inaugural match took place at St. Joseph’s Playground, with the Deputy Cdr of the 19 Artillery Brigade gracing the event as the Chief Guest. The General Secretary of the Baramulla Cricket Forum, Zubair Bashir Dar, was also present, adding to the event’s prestige.

The league witnessed enthusiastic participation from several school teams, reflecting the growing interest and talent in women’s cricket in Baramulla. The inaugural match set a vibrant tone for the series, showcasing the commitment of the Indian Army in collaboration with local authorities to foster sports and empower women through such initiatives.

The Chief Guest, in his address, emphasized the importance of sports in building character and discipline among the youth.
