“As previously agreed, I shall administer the Oath of Office and Secrecy to you and those recommended by you for induction as members of your Council of Ministers at SKICC, Srinagar, on October 16, 2024, at 11:30 a.m.,” the letter, circulated on social media as per GNS, further reads.

“I take this opportunity to wish you a highly productive tenure and success in your endeavors, in the best interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” the letter added, according to GNS.

Sinha had earlier received a letter from Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, on October 11, informing him that Omar Abdullah had been unanimously elected as the Leader of the Legislature Party.

The Lieutenant Governor also received letters of support from Tariq Hameed Karra, President of the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, G. N. Malik, Secretary of the CPI(M), Pankaj Kumar Gupta, National Secretary of the Aam Aadmi Party, and independent MLAs—Payare Lal Sharma, Satish Sharma, Ch. Mohd. Akram, Dr. Rameshwar Singh, and Muzafar Iqbal Khan—offering support for the formation of a government led by Omar Abdullah.

Meanwhile, taking to the micro-blogging platform X, Omar Abdullah wrote, “I was pleased to receive the Principal Secretary to LG Manoj Sinha ji. He handed over a letter from the office of the LG, J&K, inviting me to form the next government in J&K.” (GNS)
