Legends League Cricket 2024: Toyam Hyderabad outclass India Capitals to reach Qualifier 2

Srinagar: Powered by an impressive bowling performance, Toyam Hyderabad secured their place in Qualifier 2 by defeating India Capitals by 7 wickets in the Eliminator match at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, on Sunday.

After losing the toss and being put in to bat first, India Capitals opened their innings with Dwayne Smith and Dhruv Jatinbhai Raval. Smith scored just 3 off 4 balls, while Raval made 18 from 13 balls. The top scorer for India Capitals was Collin de Grandhomme, who contributed 36 from 19 balls. Ben Dunk added 9 runs from 14 balls. India Capitals were bowled out for 88 in 14.4 overs.

For Toyam Hyderabad, Ravi Jangid (3/14) and Shivakant Shukla (3/13) stood out with the ball, while skipper Gurkeerat Singh Mann claimed 2/11 in 3 overs. Nuwan Pradeep (1/20) and Monty Panesar (1/7) also chipped in with a wicket each.

Chasing a target of 89, Toyam Hyderabad opened with Chadwick Walton and George Worker. Walton managed just 5 runs from 13 balls. After his dismissal, Worker was joined by Peter Trego, and together they added 24 runs for the second wicket. Worker made 27 from 21 balls, and Trego contributed 19 from 10 balls. Towards the end, Gurkeerat Singh Mann remained unbeaten on 22* from 13 balls, guiding his team to victory. Toyam Hyderabad chased down the target in 11.3 overs.

For India Capitals, Iqbal Abdulla (1/34), Avinash Bhailal Yadav (1/15), and Ashley Nurse (1/15) each claimed one wicket during the innings.
