15,425 candidates appear in exams for the Sub-Inspector posts

SRINAGAR, June 24, 2018: Written test for the posts of Sub-Inspector in Jammu and Kashmir Police was held today at 31 examination centres in twin capital cities of the State as 15,425  Candidates appeared in for 698 posts in Executive/Armed and Police Telecommunication, an official communiqué issued by Police said.

The press release further said that against 16,130 PET/PST qualified candidates, 15,425  Candidates appeared in the written examination under Transparent Recruitment Process(TRP). About 96% of the candidates from across the State appeared for the written test at 31 centres at Srinagar and Jammu.

The examination was conducted in two shifts. First shift started at 1100 hrs to 1300 hrs against 658 vacancies in Executive/Armed Police and second shift from 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs against 40 vacancies in Telecommunication wing of J&K Police Department.

Earlier, in the first phase of recruitment, 16130 had qualified the physical test out of which 8,069 were from Jammu province and 8,061 were from Kashmir province.

More than 1500 officers and police personnel were deployed for examination duties at these centres. Besides efficient security arrangements were made around the centres for smooth and fair conduct of the examination.
