Srinagar: Chief electoral officer PK Pole on Thursday said that government is prepared with a plan-B in case of any disruptions in border areas of north Kashmir, expressing hope for peaceful election similar to the first and second phases.

Speaking with reporters in Bandipora, Pole, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that if any disruption happens during election in border areas of north Kashmir, they are ready with plan-B.

“First two phases happened peacefully in the Valley because of the people and security forces maintaining peace,” he said.

He said that people now wait in long queues to cast votes and participate in the festival of democracy. “We have set up 312 polling stations in Bandipora district, and the ECI has completed all formalities for polls on October 1. I visited the border areas today; people are waiting for election day,” he added.

“Our borders are peaceful, and we hope it will remain so on poll day,” he said—(KNO)
