Srinagar: Police in Kupwara have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said at a checkpoint near Lalpora, police intercepted and later arrested two individuals — Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh of Batpora Magam Handwara, and Tahir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh of Tujer Sharief Sopore – after 60 grams of ‘charas’ (cannabis) was recovered from their possession.
A case was registered at Police Station Lalpora for further investigation, police said.
