Srinagar: Following the announcement of the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir has declared public holidays on specific dates.
According to an order, a copy of which is with News Vibes of India (NVI), a public holiday will be observed at the Main Wing and Srinagar Wing of the High Court. Additionally, October 1, 2024 (Tuesday) will be a holiday for the Jammu Wing of the High Court, unless the elections are postponed.
Moreover, employees working in the Main Wing who are domiciled in other districts will be granted an additional paid holiday on the day of polling in their respective districts. The Registrars Judicial of Jammu and Srinagar have been directed to ensure that paid holidays are provided to employees in their respective wings on their district’s polling dates.
