Kulgam: CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Tuesday said that the ruling BJP has committed so many wrongdoings that they cannot compete with them in the Assembly elections, and are instead fielding proxy parties with no different background.

Tarigami was addressing rallies in the Kulgam constituency as part of the campaign for the Assembly elections, scheduled for next week. He held rallies in Chancer, Mirhama, Motargam, Pombay, Gopalpora, Tilwanpora, Adijan, Takai Gopalpora, Mahipora, and Hadigam.

The CPI(M) leader said that the ruling dispensation has committed so many wrongs that they are unable to provide any justification, leading them to field one proxy party after another.

“They know they will face tough challenges and be questioned for the harm they’ve done to the people of J&K. Since they can’t compete with us, they’ve brought in a new front, but with the same background as the ruling dispensation,” Tarigami said.

He further warned the people with a metaphor, saying, “There is a new eagle in the market, which has already taken away chicks. People must protect their chicks, as this eagle has a habit of snatching them. The people of Kulgam should not forget that this eagle have allied with the big eagle, and they need to realize this sooner rather than later.”

Tarigami added that CPI(M) is committed to the development of Kulgam, and that past achievements are an eye-opener, with more initiatives promised after the elections. He urged the youth to focus on their education, saying, “The pen is mightier than anything.”

“This government has nothing to offer the youth except FIRs. It has become an FIR government, and we promise to confront them in the Assembly, to demand accountability for the wrongs they’ve done to our youth and their future,” he added.
