Kakinmaran lifts trophy, beat Labartal by 10 runs

Budgam: Riyaz Bhat’s 45-ball 57 and Mohammad Shafi’s 28-ball 45 help hosts Kakinmaran to win final of the Ramazan cricket tournament by 10 runs here at “Friendz Cricket Stadium Kakinmaran on Saturday.

Batting first, hosts set the target of 132-6 in allotted 18 overs. In reply, Labartal could score 122-8, thereby losing the last match of the tournament.

Brilliant bowling by Sajad Ahmad with three wickets and Nisar Ahmad with two wickets could not allow Labartal to chase the target.

Asif Ali and Hassan Ali tried their best to win the match but eventually fell short of 10 runs.

Both the batsmen scored 40 of 23 balls and 28 of 33 balls respectively. For Labartal, Imtiyaz Ali and Aijaz Ali claimed two wickets each.

Riyaz Bhat, for his fifty was declared man of the match, while Imtiyaz Ali was adjudged man of the series.
