Srinagar: The jailed parliamentarian, Er Rahshid-led Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) released its manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections in J&K here Saturday.

With a tagline of “Jail Free Kashmir”, the AIP manifesto’s front page shows the party’s red and green flag with Engineer Rashid behind the bars. “No more PSA, no more UAPA” is written there in bold letters.

While pledging unconditional release of all the people of J&K languishing in different jails across India, the party promises to revoke laws like the UAPA and the PSA.

The party states that once in power, it will implement a complete ban on liquor sales in Kashmir.

The AIP has also promised to provide free medical tests in the hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir.

The party also says that it will work for restoration of schemes and the autonomy of University of Kashmir (KU), news agency KNO reported.

The party also promised free computers to students passing calls 8th exams.

It also said that it will safeguard Kashmiri students and traders working and studying outside Jammu and Kashmir in different parts of India.

Furthermore, while addressing the presser, the party promised to restore the decades-old practice of Darbar Move, in which administration shifted its offices to Jammu in winters and to Kashmir in summers.

Er Rasheed’s brother to contest from Langate

Awami Ittihad Party on Saturday announced a list of candidates for remaining seats for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the list, Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh, brother of jailed AIP supremo Er Rasheed will contest from Langate seat.

As per the list, advocate Mursaleen will contest from Sopore, Er Muneer Khan from Uri, Mohammad Muzaffar Dar from Rafiabad, Adil Nazir Khan from Gulmarg, Peerzada Firdous from Kupwara, Er Jahengeer Khan for Khansahib, Abdul Majid Banday for Handwara and Ashok Kumar Raina for Chamb. (KNO)
