As per details, a base time of 45 minutes has been allotted to each national party and respective ‘recognized state parties’ in Jammu & Kashmir on the Doordarshan network and All India Radio network in the Union Territory.

The additional time has been decided on the basis of the poll performance of the party in the last assembly election of Jammu & Kashmir. The last election in Jammu & Kashmir was held in 2014.

As per details, Aam Admi Party has been given 45 minutes, Bahujan Samaj Party 52 minutes, Bharatiya Janta Party 162 minutes, Communist Party of India( Marxist) 48 minutes, Congress 137 minutes, National Peoples Party 45 minutes, National Conference 151 minutes, Peoples Democratic Party 160 minutes and both factions of Panthers Party 50 minutes each.

According to the ECI order, the Prasar Bharati Corporation in consultation with the Commission will decide the actual date and time for broadcast and telecast.

“The period of broadcast and telecast will be between the date of publication of the list of contesting candidates for the election (in each phase) and two days before the date of poll in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir,” the order states.
