General, Police Observers chair preliminary meetings in Pulwama

PULWAMA: Pulwama today saw the arrival of General Observers; Manoj Kumar, Vadarevu Vinay Chand, Brajesh Narain Singh, Khartade Sudama Rao and Police Observer Akhliesh Kumar in view of the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly.

Expenditure Observer, Srikanth N, who arrived last week, is stationed in the district to oversee the expenditure monitoring of the election process.

These high-ranking officers, deputed by Election Commission of India are on 24/7 duty in the district to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process.

District Election Officer (DEO), Pulwama; SSP Pulwama and SSP Awantipora gave a detailed outline of preparations including manpower management, transport plan preparation of EVM, Nomination process and arrangements for prospective candidates and comprehensive security arrangements.

On their arrival, the Observers also took preliminary meetings and were briefed about their respective ACs by the Returning Officers and Nodal Officers.

Later, General Observers and Expenditure Observer also visited District Control Hall and respective Assembly Constituencies.

All the Observers deployed in the District by the ECI reiterated the directions and guidelines of the Election Commission of India for a free, fair and participative election.

The administration is committed to maintaining transparency and efficiency throughout the election period, the observers were apprised.

All necessary arrangements are in place to ensure a free and fair election, with the Observers providing continuous oversight.

With the last date of nomination papers by August 27, 2024, Pulwama is all geared up for the Elections. The scrutiny of nominations will be conducted on August 28, 2024, while August 30, 2024, has been set as the last date for the withdrawal of candidature.
