Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that if the Apni Party receives a public mandate in the upcoming elections, it will ensure a dignified life for the people, especially the youth, who have been struggling with various challenges in Jammu and Kashmir.

Bukhari was addressing a public gathering in the Hyderpora area of the Chanapora constituency, where he is preparing to contest the upcoming assembly polls.

He said, “A large number of young people remain in jails, with thousands facing charges related to stone-pelting and other offenses. Also, the job seekers are being denied police verification reports because of their past mistakes or the mistakes of their relatives. Similarly, passports are not being issued to many youths. The lack of job opportunities has left lakhs of young boys and girls struggling with unemployment. All these problems need to be resolved, and I assure you that if you give Apni Party a mandate in the upcoming elections, it will ensure the quick redressal of these issues, which are affecting our younger generation.”

“Why our youngsters should be called to police stations on the occasions of August 15 and January 26. This must be stopped. And, I promise that Apni party will make sure such practices are stopped once for all. Our youth deserve a better life. Our youth is our future,” he added.

Outlining his plan, if his party gets a public mandate, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “If Apni Party forms the next government in J&K, it will announce a general amnesty for the youth facing charges. Those who are not involved in heinous crimes like murder will be pardoned, and this initiative will relieve approximately five thousand young people. Additionally, our government will fill all job vacancies in the government sector within six months of taking office, providing employment to approximately two lakh people. We will also regularize 1.25 lakh daily wagers within three months of assuming office.”

He further said, “You should review our manifesto to see that we have planned a series of initiatives designed to ensure political, social, and economic empowerment for the people of J&K.”

He added, “We will offer 300 units of free electricity each month during the summer and 500 units during the winter to every household. We will also increase the widow and old-age pension from the current Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 per month. Similarly, we will raise marriage assistance from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh for girls from underprivileged families. In addition, we have a variety of other initiatives planned. I urge you to give us the opportunity to implement these people-centric policies.”

The Apni Party President applauded the younger generation for not resorting to stone-pelting and other violent activities since the past five years.

He said, “I am happy that our youth have finally abandoned violence and realised that it brings nothing but misery and destruction into people’s lives. While I acknowledge that New Delhi has damaged our interests and inflicted wounds upon us, I believe that the solutions to our problems and solace for our injuries will also come from Delhi, not from elsewhere. We must recognize this fact. We are entitled to all the fundamental and democratic rights guaranteed by our country’s constitution, and no one can deny us these rights. However, we must also understand that these rights come with responsibilities, and we cannot shy away from them. Maintaining peace and stability is one of these crucial responsibilities.”
