Srinagar: The BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit dismissed the National Conference’s manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections as ‘misleading and a heap of lies.’

According to BJP MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi, the manifesto aims solely to deceive voters in the Union Territory.

The National Conference’s 12 guarantees, which include the restoration of Article 370 and Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, as well as the implementation of the 2000 autonomy resolution, were highlighted as misleading. The Narendra Modi government had abrogated Article 370 in 2019, restructuring the region into two Union Territories: Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Sharma and Sethi further criticized the NC’s promises to seek amnesty for political prisoners and ensure the dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits. They labeled these commitments as unfeasible and part of a ‘vicious agenda,’ arguing that they challenge the nation’s ‘law of the land.’
