Srinagar: The farmers living along the borders of India and China have urged the government to come up with a mechanism to facilitate return of their animals, especially yaks, which they say keep straying on either side of the border.

A politician from Ladakh on Monday posted videos and pictures, which he said were of the Chinese yaks that had strayed to the Indian side.

Konchok Stanzin, a politician and a former executive councilor for Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, said that these yaks, numbering 40, were found in the valley Dzomolung Demchok.

Stanzin said that the yaks were now being tamed by the Demchok villagers.

He said people from the Indian side also lost their yaks some years ago, but didn’t get them back yet.
