DPAP dismisses news of Azad’s return to Congress
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) on Sunday denied rumours of its chairman, Ghulam Nabi Azad, rejoining the Congress party.

DPAP spokesperson Salman Nizami said that for the past two weeks speculations have circulated suggesting that Azad was approached by Congress leadership to return to the party.

Nizami said that these claims are entirely baseless.

Nizami said that since Azad left the Congress, he hasn’t approached any Congress leader, neither did they approach him, directly or indirectly, Nizami said.

He further said that these false reports were aimed at creating confusion and weakening DPAP.

Nizami urged party members to remain united and vigilant, cautioning them not to fall into any such traps.

He said that Azad remains committed to DPAP, and there are no plans for him to return to the Congress.
